Empowering Natural Hair Care

At Afrotility, we believe that natural hair care is more than technique — it’s about respect, understanding, and creating lasting confidence. Our philosophy is rooted in specialist Afro hair training combined with trichology knowledge and over a decade of one-to-one work with Afro and mixed-race clients. Since 2012, we’ve seen firsthand how education transforms hair journeys, enabling repair, regrowth, and healthy maintenance. That’s why Afrotility exists: to address real client pain points, equip stylists with the skills to work with diverse textures safely, and ensure that solutions enhance rather than deplete hair quality. Through workshops, bespoke training, and our full learning pathways, we empower stylists to deliver professional, sustainable, and health-focused care — helping clients enjoy their hair with pride and confidence.

About Us

Our Story So Far

Hey, I’m Dawn/Nyasha — The Curl Coach behind Afrotility Limited. One of my favourite shoe brands is Irregular Choice, and if I could, humans would communicate through singing only (hahahaha 🎶).

After training at WOBEL, I fell in love with the art and science of hair — especially curly hair (yes, Afro hair is curly hair!). The more hair I worked with clients, the more questions I had. That curiosity led me to study Trichology, so I could go beyond styling and truly understand what makes hair healthy.

I began coaching clients to embrace and understand their “true” hair. Online coaching was powerful, but when it came to braiding — a key protective style for many — I quickly realised there was a barrier. I simply could not braid every client who needed specialist care, and many lived far away. That’s when it became clear: coaching clients was not enough without educating the stylists who care for them.

Since 2012, I’ve worked one-to-one with Afro and mixed-race clients and seen a harsh reality: too many salons turn away Black women with natural hair because their teams lack specialist knowledge. Others rely on outdated or damaging techniques. This isn’t just bad for hair health — it’s bad for client trust and the reputation of stylists and salons alike.

That’s why I combined my Afro hair and trichology expertise into CPD-accredited workshops and courses — designed for stylists who want to braid without heat or chemicals, work ethically, and deliver lasting results. I created Afrotility to give professionals the tools and confidence to work responsibly, professionally, and inclusively.

To ensure this knowledge is shared meaningfully, I qualified as a Further Education Teacher, so I could train stylists to a standard that protects hair health and elevates professional care. My mission is simple: to build a global network of Afrotility-approved stylists, raise professional standards, and empower stylists to deliver healthy, beautiful results their clients love.

Because this isn’t just about braids — it’s about doing the right thing for hair, for clients, and for the future of the industry.
